Dance Competition Information Page 

The Highland Dance Competitions will be held May 20th in McComb gymnasium of Edinboro University. Listed below are the events and other important information.  Registration forms for all events are attached, or call 1-800-526-0121. Please note: no choreography competition this year.

Primary:

Beginner:

Novice:

Intermediate:

PREMIER

Entry Fees:  

Primary $9 one or all dances

Pre-Premier $11 one or all dances

Premier $13 one or all dances

SCHEDULE 

    • Registration is at 8:30 a.m.
    • Pre-Premier and Primary events begin at 9:00 a.m.
    • Intermediate and Premier events begin at 12:30 p.m.
    • Pre-Premier events will be divided into age groups according to entries received.
    • Events will begin with Flora Mac Donald’s Fancy, PDB, PDB + HC.
    • FUSTA & SCOTDANCE cards must be shown at time of registration.
    • Medals will be awarded for all events except Premier 18 & Over; they will receive cash.
    • Trophies will be awarded to the dancer with the highest points in all four dances of each class.
    • Primary dancers will receive medals only.
    • Special awards will be: "Most Promising Dancer" and "Premier Award" (awarded by dance off of all 1st place winners in all Premier groups).
    • We reserve the right to cancel any event due to lack of participation; should this occur, competitors will be notified prior to the day before the competition.
    • Entries received on or before May 10th, that include a self-addressed stamped envelope, will receive a competitor’s pass.
    • Entries received after May 10th will not receive a pass and must pay a gate fee in addition to entry fee.
    • NO entries will be accepted on the field.
    • $1 from each entry will be donated to FUSTA

*All events will be governed by SOBHD Rules.
